I don't think I've enjoyed a book about any angel as much as Mercury. Kroese has makes his angels just a little above men, and uses their adventures for light-hearted satire on politics, religion, and the human condition generally.I read this, the last book of the series, first, and thought it was great: very funny, intricately plotted but not so very hard to follow. On the strength of it I went back to the beginning of the series and read the first trilogy in order, and now I agree with other reviewers here: start the series from the beginning and keep going to the end. Not because you have to, but because you'll be glad you did.

This book was as funny as the rest, maybe even funnier. The fact that there were 3 Mercury(s) made it 3 times as funny. Loved it, hope he writes more.
That Balderhaz! What will he think of next? I love how Kroese makes this the end of the series while also giving us the origin story we hadn't read yet. The circle is complete and Mercury can finally retire.
I thought the series was over at book 3 or 4, but the author continues with this awesome cast of characters and their hijinks. It's been years since I read book 1, followed by the other books, and reading this was dipping into familiar territory that was engaging and humorous.
Mercury Shiugs one is about as epic (epochal, really) as it gets. Prepare yourself for more of Kroese's laugh-out-loud humor, sharp originality, and a satisfying conclusion to the Mercury series.
Fantastic ending of the story. I am usually disappointed by great stories as the endings arent usually planned out well. In this case the ending is super random yet makes total sense. The amount of satisfaction I have from not being let down is through the roof!
These are good stories with great characters. This isn't the best of them but,if you have read a few, the characters bring you back each time. Like many straight to books this one needed an editor.
Robert Kroese quickly became one of my favorite authors with the first few Mercury books. I love the characters in the stories and the situations he throws them into. And his sense of humor is fantastic. It's hard to beat Mercury Falls (first in the series), but Mercury Shrugs managed to take the title of my second favorite in the Mercury series.
There is a lot of multiverse hopping and time travel in this one, and it could have gotten messy very quickly. Actually, it did get messy but in a way that worked. I thought Kroese did a good job of keeping universes and time periods straight, while keeping the story interesting without being so confusing that it was no longer enjoyable.
I would love for the Mercury series to go on, but if this has to be the end, I'm happy with how things were wrapped up.
