The Book of Daniel is a study, a commentary, of the book of Daniel in the Bible. Each verse and each sentence is dissected to unveil great prophecies which are coming to fruition today. It cannot be over-emphasized how relevant this book is to our current generation. The book of Daniel covers everything from the sorry state of today’s denominations, to corrupt governments who will not be changed before the end of the world as we know it. The author defines words and phrases typically ignored and expounds on the prophetic times and seasons well documented by Daniel. Many devastating things which will come to pass are clearly defined in this book. However, Daniel doesn’t stop here. We, the children of God, are shown the beautiful way of a true Christian’s life, as modeled by Daniel himself. We truly are blessed and must give all glory to God for His generous gift of salvation, through His Son, Jesus Christ.

About the Author

Russell Stendal, a former hostage of Colombian rebels, is a lifelong missionary to that same group in the jungles of Colombia. He is an influential friend to military and government leaders in Colombia, Cuba, Mexico, Venezuela, and the United States. Russell’s ministry shares the gospel via twelve radio stations, hundreds of thousands of Bibles, books, and movies distributed through airplane parachute drops, and numerous speaking engagements for groups of leaders, prisoners, and individuals. Russell goes wherever the Lord leads, whether it’s to speak with a president or to go deep into the jungle to help an individual in trouble. He has witnessed thousands commit their lives to Christ.

The Book of Daniel Prophecy for Today from Daniel edition by Russell Stendal Religion Spirituality eBooks

Mr. Stendal has illuminated this prophetic book of the Bible extremely well with some points of view and insights I had not had the pleasure of seeing in the past. His writing is for the most part very clear and focused. The editing could use a wee bit of help as I found I had to reread some senteces several times and place mental commas to make the thought clear. I greatly recommend this book to all seeking a greater understanding and appreciation for the prophecies and messages found in the book of Daniel

The Book of Daniel Prophecy for Today from Daniel edition by Russell Stendal Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews

I have been a student of The Bible for 30 years or more and I've never heard an interpretation of the Book of Daniel quite like this one. Particularly in the the way Stendal describes the attitude of Daniel and the three brothers who were thrown into the furnace. Unlike many "religious" folks and their attitudes toward contemporary leaders today, they did not dishonor the Babylonian rulers or their God. They understood that Nebuchadnezzar was placed on the throne by God. Therefore, to rebel against or ever speak ill of God's chosen leader was an affront to God Himself and completely out of the question.

The only time Daniel or the brothers were disobedient to the king was when the king's decrees were specifically in conflict with God's commandments. So when the king erected his golden statue, the brothers refused to bow to it out of respect for and fear of The One, True God. Likewise, when Daniel was ordered to no longer pray to God, he was thrown into the lion's den by Darius, the Persian King. In every case when God's followers chose obedience to God, they were uninjured through whatever penalty was handed out for disobeying the kings of Babylon. The blazing furnace... the lion's den... it didn't matter; obedience to God trumps obedience to temporal leaders every time.

I think about this when I've had thoughts or react in a negative way toward our own national leaders... I must admit I am not always respectful of them in my speach and attitude. From reading Stendal's book, I have had to reexamine my attitude and realize our leaders have been placed in the seats of temporal power by God. I, therefore, am obligated to "give to Caesar what is Caesar, but give to God what belongs to Him."

Thank you Russell for bringing new life and relevance to a book of the Bible that is essential to those who wish to live according to the will of God. God's peace, brother.
Very interesting book. I am learning so much I might have to reread it just to soak it all in. Reading through this hand-in-hand with another study and it was a huge asset for the study.
It is wonderful to read a book that I know comes straight from the personal experience of the author as well as the word of God. Where you say that "Scripture is very clear that if we try to save our life, we will lose it, but if we lose our life for the LORD and for the gospel, we will find it…" I know that this is being written by a man who has chosen to lose his life for the Lord. This is a powerful book and understanding to have in this time.
Everything by Russell Stendall is great. He brings out revelations in these books that are from the heart of God.
Great book, some insight I was unaware of by reading this book. I'm a born again christian believing in Jesus Christ as my personal savior, and I feel this book is extremly good. I do not give hi score unless I feel it has gone beyond my standards. This book has.
Russell's Book of Daniel is not your typical commentary on the book. In fact, it includes the book of Haggai, woven together with portions of Revelation, Galatians, Joel, Ezekiel, and Zechariah.

Taken from a series of sermons with a viewpoint from Colombia, this book is not only a call to consider our ways, but it is also the message of salvation going to high risk areas of Colombia. Daniel's passion for God and the life that follows is a main theme of this book.

With such a unique perspective, Russell brings the message of Daniel to a personal level as he challenges the reader to live as Daniel lived - in total obedience to God. He includes the Scripture verses instead of merely citing them and adds background information not found in Scripture.

We get a glimpse of what the American Church looks like to a non-American. Russell deals with problems of the Church as it becomes steeped in humanism. He takes all of this and relates it to the end time message of Daniel.

You may agree; you may disagree, but Pastor Stendal presents views that will cause you to think outside the box. He speaks from experiences that most of us will never have, but need to understand.
Author used the book of Daniel less as a topic of prophecy and more as a springboard to speak against our sins and distance from God. I read through nine chapters before giving it up as a waste of time for the purpose of the study of prophecy. There were several times I had to check to see if I was "rereading" a chapter only to find out that the author was going over previous material almost verbatim. It may be this book was compiled from a series of sermons, but does not excuse the editor from his responsibility. Another person commented that the author seemed "to ramble" at times; I would agree. Read if you want a series of sermons; avoid if you are studying prophecy.
